Lifestyle refers to patterns in pop culture, which are often knit by the same needle.
It is about dramatizations of the everyday that vary in their underlying structure yet are
similar.
The artist creates a myth by giving form to an appearance: Lifestyle takes the shape
of an autograph session.
In the framework of the presentation in Kunstraum Niederoesterreich, four members
of the fictional band Lifestyle sign autographs on an unprinted page in the artists book
Re-.
With their signature—the handwritten original—they contribute to the stylization of this
moment.
The audience has the opportunity to add to the book and thereby enhance it, or to
simply indulge in harmless fandom.
Parallel to this one-off staging, the situation is described by a fictional author in written
form on another page of the book,
anticipating the run-up to the exhibition after the fact and thereby, in turn, acting in the
present time of the autograph session.
